ARCON urges state-level signage agencies to align policy with national advertising standards

The Director-General of the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON), Dr Olalekan Fadolapo has urged the state-level signage agencies to align their policies in line with the national advertising standards to prevent conflicting directives.

He gave the advice recently at the just concluded  Out-of-Home Advertising Association of Nigeria (OAAN)  41st Annual General Meeting  themed “OOH Media in Political Campaign Season: Policies, Politics, and Fair Practice” held  in Abeokuta, Ogun State, from August 6 to 8, 2026.

OAAN President Sola Akinsiku, Dr Theodore Okwunicheta Ejikeme Ekechi, Chairman of the Marketing & Media Group, Dozie Okafor, President of the Media Independent Practitioners Association of Nigeria (MIPAN), Tolulope Medebem, President of the Experiential Marketers Association of Nigeria (EXMAN) and a host of professionals called for the sanctity of Out-of-Home (OOH) advertising industry and adherence to professional standards.
