APA Ogun State Chairman warns advertising practitioners against the resurgence of unapproved ads.

The Chairman, Advertising Practitioners Association (APA) Ogun State Chapter, Hon. Abayomi Afolabi, has called on all advertising practitioners to desist from exposing advertisements without prior approval of the Advertising Standard Panel (ASP) as required by the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON) Act 23 of 2022.

He issued the warning during an opinion poll regarding the removal of Abayomi Semako Hunye's political campaign banners inscription: “Hon. Abayomi Hunye is still in the Race" . The banners were removed on Monday, September 7, 2026.

Hon. Abayomi Semako Hunye's campaign organization accused Ogun State Signage and Advertising Agency (OGSAA) officials of removing their campaign banners—which read 'Hon. Abayomi is still in the race'—in Abeokuta and Ijebu-Ode.

Impeccable sources disclosed that the political campaign banners lacked the required ARCON approval. 

The Head of ARCON, Ogun State , Ms Adeniyi Adenike confirmed that there was no ASP approval record for any political campaign banner bearing the inscription, 'Hon. Abayomi is still in the race.
